Rich

My name is Rich, and I am the Head Chaplain and Medicine Carrier for Healing House. Above all, I am a father to two amazing individuals who are the most important part of my life.

My journey with plant medicine and psychedelics began in my teenage years, but it wasn’t until later in life that I discovered their profound healing benefits. I have overcome many mental obstacles through plant medicine, gaining self-confidence and overcoming depression triggers.

In late 2019, during a difficult period of my life, I faced a family tragedy involving a major bus accident. I organized a group to raise funds for the affected families, which led me to a breaking point. A close friend suggested Ayahuasca, and within two weeks, I attended a life-changing retreat. During my third Ayahuasca ceremony, I realized my calling: “for the people on the mats,” and this has been the motto ever since. I didn’t choose this path, but through various experiences, I was pushed into it.

I started Healing House because I had seen a lack of safety and trust in other communities. I wanted to create a space where people could feel secure and supported. My roles include preparing and serving the sacraments, training the staff, organizing gear, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. I have a hands-off approach during ceremonies, believing that everyone is on their own path and capable of healing themselves. My role is to ensure your safety and provide support along the way.

I have attended training with Reiki and Kambo, and I attended Ayahuasca training in the jungles of Peru. While I do not claim to be a shaman or a healer, I humbly offer my assistance to individuals seeking healing through ceremony. Our staff is trained with a handbook developed by myself and my partner, Kim, ensuring a safe and intimate experience for our guests. We maintain a low guest-to-staff ratio to provide the best possible support.

Outside of Healing House, I am involved in my son’s Cub Scout pack – I am also an Eagle Scout & Master Mason. Professionally, I am a web developer. These experiences have shaped my approach to facilitating and supporting others with care and respect.

I look forward to meeting and sitting in ceremony with you. Hearing your stories before and after the ceremony is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. You are welcome to join us in ceremony, and we also invite you to participate in our weekly calls. I hope the space and experience you find with us will be beneficial both during and beyond your time with Healing House.

I hope to meet you soon,
Rich
